South African crypto entrepreneur and Yearn Finance founder Andre Cronje will beat Crypto Messiah in a physical battle at a crypto conference in Dubai. The event, known as the Cryptocurrency International Boxing Match, will take place on October 15th.
The promised prize goes to charity
According to the organizers of the fight, the pledged prize money of $ 1 million, which will be awarded in the form of phantom tokens, will be donated to a charity that has yet to be advised. In a tweet from one of the organizers of boxing events, Harry Yeh said that both figures in the crypto world have no interest in the award. Yeh stated in a thread::
Just an update on this thread. Confirmed – I’ll take the prize money. Both fighters just want to fight, so instead I will donate the $ 1M of $ FTM to a charity that will be announced after my election.
Cronje and Crypto Messiah Twitter Brawl
On the same thread, Yeh also praised the Crypto Twitter community and UAE Warriors for helping make the boxing competition a reality. Meanwhile in his Tweet On April 30th, Cronje confirmed his participation in the match “No Weight Class”, which he also called the “strangest crypto conference of all time”.
The now planned battle between the two figures of the crypto world was sparked by a Crypto Messiah tweet accusing Andre Cronje of cheating investors over EMN rug pull. In the tweet, the Crypto Messiah proposes to fight Cronje in Miami and offers to “donate US $ 50,000 to a charity of Cronje’s choice regardless of the winner.”
After a debate that sparked the interest of the Crypto Twitter community, a date for the fight was set and both the fighters and their supporters hyped the event. However, other users are still confused with the unusual format of the crypto event. For example, Sam Bankman-Fried, founder and CEO of FTX asked if this was a “physical fight like boxing or something or is it like a metaphor?”
