Amid its rapid global expansion, Ripple Lab has brought Sendi Young to its leadership team.
Who is Sendi Young?
Sendi Young previously worked for global payment giant Mastercard. During her five-year tenure with the company, Sendi held several key roles, from management to strategic. She helped Mastercard research and thrive on banking fintech partnerships, commercialization, and general business development.
In addition, she recently led Mastercard’s Fintech & Digital segment worldwide for the Data & Services business and enabled banks to make real-time payments by providing relevant services.
Sendi’s role at Ripple:
At Ripple, Sendi would act as managing director of Ripple’s European operations. In the announcement blog post, Ripple stated that Sendi as managing director as “monitor” the expansion of RippleNet; Ripple’s global financial network technology.
RippleNet is a blockchain-based payment network that enables institutions to make cheap and secure instant payments via an API.
Regarding her role at Ripple, Sendi said:
“However, the underlying payment and banking infrastructure remains an obstacle to a smooth cross-border exchange of values and integration. I firmly believe that blockchain and crypto will be groundbreaking to improve today’s finance by addressing its core inefficiencies. “
Ripple’s expansion in Europe:
According to the Post, Ripple has seen significant growth in Europe this year.
