FC Dynamo Kyiv, the top team in the Ukrainian Premier League, is launching NFT tickets for the 2021 season. The legendary football club, which has the largest fan base in Ukraine, also offers its fans unique collectibles through a partnership with a blockchain company to offer.
Dynamo Kyiv tickets are listed on Binance NFT
The NFT tickets will be listed on the Binance NFT marketplace at the end of June. The sale is part of the “100 Creators Campaign” that was organized on the occasion of the platform’s launch. Dynamo Kyiv plans to continue offering NFTs, including collectibles, on a regular basis. The ticketing initiative is supported by Moonwalk, a US-based blockchain company.
Moonwalk’s platform enables the integration of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) into the sale of physical and virtual event tickets, e-commerce, consumer rewards and payment networks. Since January, the company has been developing Dynamo’s digital economy, which includes a token ecosystem in the team’s stadium and throughout the Ukrainian capital. Mark Ginzburg, FC Dynamo Kyiv vice president who leads the team’s innovation efforts, stated:
The tokenization of the legendary club is not an homage to fashion and does not follow any opportunistic hype. We have a well-calculated strategy and have a clear goal: to make Dynamo, the best club in Ukraine, the largest technology leader in European football within the next two years.
“Dynamo Kyiv has established itself as an incredibly forward-thinking franchise as the team has developed new ways to connect with its fans, communities and partners,” commented Greg Consiglio, Co-Founder of Moonwalk. The executive found that the tickets are part of a broader rewards ecosystem that also allows fans to collect memorabilia from NFT games.
Dynamo offers 25% of its home game tickets as NFTs
Binance NFT and Moonwalk will be the exclusive NFT ticket providers for Dynamo Kyiv, the soccer club announced on its website. With the start of the new season, game-related NFTs will also be introduced on Binance NFT. Gleb Kostarev, Binance Director for Eastern Europe commented:
Dynamo Kyiv has a distinguished history and one of the largest fan bases in Ukraine. We’re excited to announce this collaboration, and of course our users were excited too.
The regional manager of the world’s leading crypto exchange expressed his belief that NFT tickets will soon become something normal for soccer fans. Kostarev is convinced that the Binance NFT Marketplace will be one of the leading platforms for NFT ticketing.
Dynamo plans to offer more than a quarter of its home game tickets as NFTs. Even in the shorter 2019-20 season, the team managed to sell more than 400,000 tickets for matches in Kiev, where the Olimpiyskiy Stadium is located, with a capacity of 70,000. The press release states that fans can use the NFTs to unlock playing cards, exclusive rewards, and drops in the team’s Moonwalk digital wallet.
